The twenty-four hour timing range is good compared to others, which only manage one hundred minutes. It's questionable whether a clock function is really needed in a kitchen timer, and I'd be happy without that for the sake of simplicity. It hasn't crashed yet, as another two timers I owned did regularly. (I prefer rechargeables, not so much because they save money, but because disposables tend to leak and destroy things when run down.)Ħ. The display digits aren't faint at this lower voltage, and the alarm is still loud enough. It seems to work OK with 1.2V rechargeable batteries, as well as the supplied 1.5V disposable. The alarm is loud enough to be heard from another room, or even upstairs, depending on your house.Ĥ. The display digits are large, and still legible when viewed off-centre, or from a distance.ģ. The functions and controls are well thought out, and it's easy to use.Ģ. It still works, but now I'll have to be very careful with the one side that locks it in place.ġ. It seems the catch on mine has already broken at one side. I have one niggle: the flip-out stand at the back is flimsy, and looks like it would break easily. If it gained time instead, keeping it aligned would be much more fiddly. This is a good thing though, because it's easy to adjust by pressing the Minute or Second button occasionally. The clock isn't fabulously accurate, and tends to lose time. Until you get used to this, you are certain to adjust the clock inadvertently, but it's fine once you get used to the idea of not touching any buttons until switching to Timer mode. The clock is simple to adjust at any time, by just nudging one of the Hour/Minute/Second buttons. It's nice and big, with an easy-to-read screen.
